G.NEGRO checkpoint.....food question
Heading south they "sometimes" ask if you have various foods....meat, fruit, whatever. What's the latest on what they may be looking for?

I always have my 10 pesos in hand for the spray....when the Ag guy asks me about fruit, etc., I always say I don't have anything and am buying food in
Vizcaino. I am firm yet polite. So far, I always get an okay...have a nice day.

Never had anyone do anything but ask for the dinero for the bug spray. Constantly amazed at the various experiences. Guess the only thing folks can
rely on in Baja is not to rely.

I was honest on a trip south a couple years ago, and they "confiscated" some oranges and limes. I'm sure they enjoyed them!

Show me your papers
I've always been asked about fruits/plants. If I'm in my car, it's not an issue. In my RV, I've had someone come on board to search my fridge.
I've had meat confiscated --- frozen steaks, hamburger.
I've been asked for my tourist visa which they have taken and stamped.
Going North, no problem as I go through about 6am.
I avoid this checkpoint now and go around.
US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.
What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

Thanks for the info. It has been a while since I have passed by there. May use "alternate" route if I decide to go past there.
( No...I am NOT leading a march to protest unions in C.C.)

Ah heck, thought we might have a new political leader---can see it now, bunch of gringos with signs, chants, etc.---would be a site to see.
If you have not been on alternate route for a while, be careful. I think it was about a year ago that they put three NASTY topes on that road.
We found out the hard way. We had left via that road and returned a few weeks later to the surprise. The sun was setting right through the
windshield so we did not see the first one----lucky there was no damage.
