Sat. TV in Baja
We normally watch Dn when we are SOB. Have not been since the change over to the new sat with 119. Is anyone still picking up anything to watch? We
were still able to pick up 110 in March when last down. (not a discussion of signal strength) Trying to plan for this winter's trip.
Thanks,

there have been 2 threads about sat tv recently, both having to do with a satellite change. is this change just for dish network?
i just recently got a rig for my travel trailer and i thought i would take the dish to baja for the tv there. my service is directv. i set it up once
in southern calif as a test and got connected with a little patience.
i know of campers who set up in remote locations in so cal and am wondering if this will this work in baja? north not south.
anything i need to know?

Amigos, yes, yes, yes. New satellite has given us a stronger signal here in BCS--pacific!! Techman Nomad Allan recently posted. Look it up or
contact him . Sky is good alternative and even CableTV here in Todos--not Pescadero. Suerte

Thanks everyone. I have read the other threads but there had not been any updates for awhile. I have picked up Dish below Mexico City with my
present setup. Hoping I don't have to make changes. I carry a 36" & 48" dish when we are in Mexico. Thanks again.

Amigo, where do you vacation south of the Capital?? It's wonderful to pickup US sports/new, etc via satellite TV. My most recent dream is to leave
the hot, humid environs of the coast, in the summer, for the central mtns of Mexico including Oaxaca and Chiapas and watchJerry every morning from
my hammaca! Esta bien?? Smiles Tio

Just FYI, I asked the same question on rv.net. Was posted a 6-8 foot dish is now required just South of Guadalajara. This was the point in the past
where I had to switch from my 3 foot dish to my 4 foot. 6 foot dish is getting a little large to haul around even with a Toyhauler!

rocmoc n AZ/Baja | Here is a signal footprint map of the new satellite at 119°, Echostar 14. The last fringe
band now passes through Zacatecas/San Luis Potosi.
Looks like everyplace south of Aguascalientes/San Miguel de Allende got hosed. Mexico City not looking good.

Here was the old footprint map from Echostar 7:

Just curious, for other Sky subscribers. They advertise a price but when you first go to the bank to pay, they charge 21 pesos a month or so for
Revista, which must be the TV guide magazine, that I don't think ever gets delivered, and an annual membership fee of 200 or so pesos. I am hoping
it is not just an add on from the sky distributor in Santa Rosalia.
