HAVE YOU TAKEN THE TEST ?

If anyone has taken the Mexican nationalization test and has the answers to the 100 questions, I sure could use some help. Thanks.

I wish! I found the questions on line...all in spanish, of course, but haven't had time to translate them all, find the answers...and then translate that back into Spanish:lol:..just not enough time! If you find such a thing please post it here for those of us who need to study! Let us know how the nationalization process goes for you.

I took the test a couple years ago and my study sheet only had about 50 questions...of course in spanish because the test is in spanish. I studied like mad and had them all down...but they slipped one in on me that wasnt on the list...name 2 famous mexican authors...the 2 I put down werent famous enough I guess but that was my only wrong answer.

the most difficult thing for me to learn was the first 3 stanzas of the national anthem because they use old world words that arent used anymore...kinda like reciting shakespeare in spanish.

There were only 5 questions on the test and I believe you could only get one wrong. The best part was going to DF and seeing the murals & architecture...oh and getting my citizenship of course.

I highly recommend Gilberto Pinera to help you through the process...he's awesome and makes it go very smoothly and gets your passport lickety split. He picks you up at the airport and you can even stay in a nice room in his house, he drives you around and just makes the process so much easier.

His office # is 555-529-8701 and tell him Shari from Bahia asuncion sent you.

HIMNO NACIONAL MEXICANO

CORO

Mexicanos, al grito de guerra
El acero aprestad y el bridon;
y retiemble en sus centros la tierra
Al sonoro rugir del canon.

Cina -oh patria! tus sienes de olivo
De la Paz el arcangel divino,
Que en el cielo tu eterno destino
Por el dedo de Dios se escribio.
Mas si osare un extrano enemigo
Profanar con su planta tu suelo,
Piensa -oh patria querida! que el cielo
Un soldado en cada hijo te dio.

CORO

II

-Guerra, guerra sin tregua al que intente
De la patria manchar los blasones!
-Guerra, guerra! Los patrios pendones
En las olas de sangre empapad.
-Guerra, guerra! En el monte, en el valle
Los canones horrisonos truenen
Y los ecos sonoros resuenen
Con las voces de -Union! -Libertad!

CORO

III

Antes, patria, que inermes tus hijos
Bajo el yugo su cuello dobleguen,
Tus campinas con sangre se rieguen,
Sobre sangre se estampe su pie.
Y tus templos, palacios y torres
Se derrumben con horrido estruendo,
Y sus ruinas existan diciendo:
De mil heroes la patria aqui fue.

CORO

IV

-Patria! -patria! Tus hijos te juran
Exhalar en tus aras su aliento,
Si el clarin con su belico acento
Los convoca a lidiar con valor.
-Para ti las guirnaldas de oliva!
-Un recuerdo para ellos de gloria!
-Un laurel para ti de victoria!
-Un sepulcro para ellos de honor!

CORO

Mexicanos, al grito de guerra
El acero aprestad y el bridon,
y retiemble en sus centros la tierra
Al sonoro rugir del canon.

English:

CHORUS

Mexicans, at the cry of battle
lend your swords and bridle;
and let the earth tremble at its center
upon the roar of the cannon.

Your forehead shall be girded, oh fatherland, with olive garlands
by the divine archangel of peace,
For in heaven your eternal destiny
has been written by the hand of God.
But should a foreign enemy
Profane your land with his sole,
Think, beloved fatherland, that heaven
gave you a soldier in each son.

CHORUS

II

War, war without truce against who would attempt
to blemish the honor of the fatherland!
War, war! The patriotic banners
saturate in waves of blood.
War, war! On the mount, in the vale
The terrifying cannon thunder
and the echoes nobly resound
to the cries of union! liberty!

CHORUS

III

Fatherland, before your children become unarmed
Beneath the yoke their necks in sway,
May your countryside be watered with blood,
On blood their feet trample.
And may your temples, palaces and towers
crumble in horrid crash,
and their ruins exist saying:
The fatherland was made of one thousand heroes here.

CHORUS

IV

Fatherland, fatherland, your children swear
to exhale their breath in your cause,
If the bugle in its belligerent tone
should call upon them to struggle with bravery.
For you the olive garlands!
For them a memory of glory!
For you a laurel of victory!
For them a tomb of honor!

OK Shari, I give up

What does 'DK" stand for?

I was told the rules for 65+ years old are different than if you are under 65 years old. Does anyone know about this? I was told that you only have an FM@ for 2 years if you are over 65.

See you next month,

Howard and Gringo the Dingo

My husband is 63 and the person who helps us with our immigration told us that he can have his FM2 for 2 years and then apply for citizenship WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE THE TEST!!! Since I am younger than him I will have to take the test or wait for a long time to be a citizen.

DK ???? DF maybe ???? which means the capital or Distrito Federal

If you are 60 or older, you do not have to take the test. My husband will NOT have to take the test BUT you do have to go to an interview and be fluent in Spanish ... so I was told ... maybe someone else can comment on this ?
