Finches
Anyone know of any finch breeders/sellers in Baja? Got my last birds from the vet in Sta. Rosalia but he no longer keeps them.

The problem with Finches
Is that it just takes too many to make a decent meal.

Yes, have already talked to Mick and we were thinking of taking a ride to Viscaino to see the vet store there. But I can't find their phone number
and don't know if I want to go all that way on spec. Viscaino must be in the Baja Norte phone book.

HiHi! Its Mulegena here, Lisa Maria of Mulege.
We lost all our house birds to Hurricane Jimena in spite of the protections we designed and built into their habitats. Our hearts will always ache for
them.
We're slowly rebuilding the house and yard and have the remaining animals in the dive center. Its been a great way to meet everyone in town. First the
children come by and see all the animals. Then they bring their parents. What a meet 'n greet.
Mick is designing and building multi-animal co-habitations there in town on-premises where it is safer for them. He's quite the Ace Ventura-Croc
DunDee of Baja. His collection includes a Savannah Lizard from Africa, a frog from Central America, 2 Mexican Green Iguana, 1 Mexican Basilisk Lizard,
1 Colombian Red-Tailed Boa Constrictor, 3 Mexican turtles, 6 rabbits and a Mexican racoon which was injured and rescued by local ranchers. I've a pair
of red-factor canaries, too.
With all these animals I have a small composting system going. I've plenty of freshly made soil to share with anyone.
In answer to your question about acquiring birds locally in Central Baja: We've purchased from two breeders in Sta. Rosalia who live on Mexican Mesa,
Alan and Titi. The vet supply houses in Loreto and Vizcaino also carry birds from time to time.
