Heading down the 'new' new road south of Puertecitos towards Gonzaga...
--usually go to Gonzaga via Chapala/hwy 1--
We're eye'n Punta Bufeo.
Q.
Does any Nomads know of any campgrounds (PALAPA's? toilets? trash pick up?) and/or services(water, food, ice, beer, gas, Panga guides) @ Punta Bufeo?
mucH's Gracias

Was waiting for others to respond first... as I have not driven in to the camp... However, from reading other's reports over the years, there is/was a motel there (cabins perhaps) and a restaurant.

There is a Nomad 'Bufeo' as well!

Punta Bufeo is run by some very nice people. They have a cantina for sure....don't know about a motel. This time of year you shouldn't have wind....just heat. If you do get wind you will be very happy because it will cool you off.

Bufeo basically a camp of private residences on the water front. Their is a cantina, small very basic 2 or 3 room motel, no trash service, cabanas. Not set up for camping. Suggest you go about 5 miles north for Campo Delphines. Excellent sandy beach, they have a palapa or two on the beach, they also have fresh water well (haul your own). Super nice owners, Manuel & Elsa will also cook for campers. Not sure if they are in camp during the hot months ? No trash service !

Another camp near Delfines and Bufeo is Las Encantadas... is that for camping or just part timers?

As for 'trash service'... if it doesn't burn completely in your camp fire, then haul it out... You were able to haul it in afterall, and now it is lighter. Trash cans at many beach camps in Baja are dumped in the desert nearby, and not usually in any kind of managed 'landfill'. Bring plenty of trash bags when you go camping.

No palapas @ Pt Bufeo. I have seen people camp there but no “services”. There is a motel and you may be able to get one of the locals to whip you up some food at the cantina, but this time of year I expect it’s pretty quiet due to the heat/humidity.
I’ve seen and heard some things about the palapas at Beluga… might be showers/trash service there. Beluga is a few miles past Rancho Grande.

Yes, at Beluga there are palapas, showers (cold), flush toilets, trash cans...

Photos when we camped there back in 2007... http://vivabaja.com/207/page3.html

It is 8.2 miles from the Pta. Bufeo road to the Rancho Grande store... with a military checkpoint between.
