mooring boat in Gonzaga Bay

Are there any bad places to moor our 14' aluminum boat in Gonzaga Bay? Either because of tides or wind or safety? Where is the best place to launch (we'll have transom wheels)? We want to launch it and leave it there for 3 or 4 nights near where we camp. We are thinking either Sacrificio, Rancho Grande, Papa's, or even Bufeo. We would prefer a camp with shade(most likely palapas) showers and availibility of freshwater (not for drinking).

I\'ve been told I\'m preoccupied with Baja. They just don\"t understand, in fact neither do I.

would NOT use Rancho Grande...they bladed off the ENTIRE desert between the beach and the store ...when the blows...its a virutal sand storm (been there done that in July)

other choices are fine...just remember the tidal swing...floating now...on the sand later

still planning on going with you on the 18th...any others

i wouldn't moor a small 14 foot boat

too much chance of wind at 1am
you DON'T want to wake up at that time

i would drag it on the beach and push off in the morning

unless of course where you are has too much tide change like san felipe

Dont do it unless you want to wake up in the morning and have your boat under water or floating somewhere across the bay. I have personally seen two boat get swamped in front of Alfonsinas and had my own boat float across the bay and wash up on the rocks, luckily we found it. If it is a 14ft aluminum, drag it up on the beach, no other way to go. The wind can come up there out of nowhere and in any direction at any time. We moor the panga we fish on but it is 24 ft. The boats i saw swamped were too close to shore and the water was too shallow so after a low tide push to high tide with some wind, they went down.
