campgrounds around Camalu / Shipwrecks
Hi folks, are there any campgrounds near Shipwrecks? We are looking for a bit of night time security and at least outhouses (in addition to a slow,
mushy, longboard right point break).
Thanks.

I think shipwrecks has a camping area inside the fenced off point.

sure just go to google earth and zoom in, you can even see how the swell wraps around the point.
camalu west to the coast and then north to the point

There's a dirt lot right in front of the shipwreck that a security guard will let you camp in, for a fee of course. And if you go there, you will
definitely get your mushy pointbreak.

Stayed there around 6 months ago in my self contained RV. I do not know if they have an outhouse or water and did not see any electric. The guard
charged me $10 a night and on the way out I noticed the sign that said $5 a night. Joke is on me for not reading the sign on the way in.
Great spot to chill with a great view. Pack in anything you want to use, as I do not remember any stores, etc as you are on your own.

You can camp down the beach past the houses free, or on the point in the wind for a fee.

go to the hostel/campground at cuatro casas. turn west at the road to san pedro martir at the yellow auto parts building. camping and beds. richard,
teresa and super moscar will cook for you and the pool is always waiting for you to skate it! camalu will get you robbed. shipwreck is a dump, unless
you rent a house.

Yep that is a good place to camp but as of last week that road is super sandy 18" - 24" deep crossing the dry river. the south road is good but a
little longer. there is a sign with "trucker chicks" and a surfboard at the next town then go north at the beach till you hit the spot. When are you
looking to go? I'll be at cuatros in two weeks
