Meeting new people and groups???

I have only lived in Tijuana 3 months and I want to meet people and groups. Can you recommend any ways or places for a single guy to meet people. Something more than a bar...although I do enjoy those too. I speak little spanish thus far.

I am surprised that I do not see a calendar or "gathering" spot on the BajNomad site. Did I not see such a listing?

Adelita's in Tijuana is much more than a bar. It's an adventure.

Nomad is a geographically spread out network of like-minded folks with Baja as it's focus. Some local areas have impromptu get-togethers, such as just took place in Rosarito [your area] at a restaurant called SPLASH.
You just have to monitor the board and eventually you'll see something that is in your area and interest.

For me, the best way to monitor the board is to put TODAY'S POSTS in your favorites and watch activity as it takes place in all forums. That way you arn't confined to one forum.

Just a thought.

Welcome to BajaNomad.

Adelita's gets my vote for a meet up spot. More of a hook up spot actually.:lol::lol:

Ask a taxi driver and get his cell number if he take you to a place you like call him back when you're ready to try another place. Tip well. Have a good time in your new home and Welcome to the Nomads.

We attended some of the Nomad gatherings and always had alot of fun and met lots of new amigos...maybe you can even plan a little gathering...put it on the board and see who shows up...I highly recommend this board for social networking...you wont be sorry....if you play nice you may get invited to some of those pta.banda parties...they are awesome!!!

Paella Festival Sept. 5th, 2pm (Finally! Really!)

From our good friend and fellow nomad, Fernando (fdt):

"Hello again;
This is to inform you of the set date for the paella festival at Castillos del Mar. Yes, after much planning and getting everyone involved to agree on the magnitude of the event, the date is set for September 5th at 2 PM.
This is going to be an unforgettable event. We will have of course the paella, beeing served by top chefs from the area and plenty of entertainment, from a fashion show of 2 top designers, to a concert with Antonio De Carlo. I have attached the promotioal poster and we also have a web site you can visit for more information.
http://paellafest.com . Thank you for your patience and support and we hope to see you there.
Respectfully,
Fernando Garcia

I will enjoy the paella festival this Sunday, it sounds like a nice time. Anyone know if tickets are limited? Should I go with a ticket or get one at the door?

Pta.Banda is a place where several Nomads live and they often get together for great meals, wine and good conversation as they are interesting folks...they seem to have quite a few fun events in that area as well that are posted here....so stay tuned and let us know how it goes.

there are lots of cycling groups in TJ...road bike and MTB. Check out Facebook. That's where they list all of their rides. And the Rosarito-Ensenada Fun BIke Ride is coming up on Sept 25. www.rosaritoensenada.com

And well, a Punta Banda party is something to behold. Punta Banda is a tad south of Ensenada near La Bufadora....
