I believe Campo Rene answers to all the above. Drive along highway 1 to PUNTA ABREOJOS turn off. Punta Abreojos is after Guerrero Negro and after Vizcaino in Baja Sur.

Once you have taken the Abreojos turnoff (km 99), eventually there are signs for Campo Rene, which will be on your left. It has cabins or camping, a lagoon to birdwatch and launch a boat, a beach to camp on, a restaurant .... no phone service, no cell phone coverage and therefore no internet access.

There all over Al. Not a lot of new campgrounds, but most of the old ones are still there. Give us a better idea of where in Baja you are going to and you'd get a more precise answer.

We have a new campground Campo Sirena in Bahia Asuncion (central west coast of baja)...but no boat ramp...just a launch place but depending on your boat, you can launch from the beach in front of the camground...also wifi, laundry, hookups, library, shower, bathroom, and dump station...bistro across the street too.

Hi Al,

Since we met you at Camp Gecko 7 years ago, I am going to presume you might be asking about Bahia de los Angeles?

Camp Gecko is only for long term leases and most people recommend Daggett's (north of town) now for a similar camp. Reuben Daggett has cabins and palapas http://www.campdaggetts.com

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

When I was at Campo Rene last October I had cell coverage and the banda ancha worked fine.

really .... that is good to know, the neighbors here in La Bocana told me that the only service was via radio since there were no cell towers.
