Bahia Surf Tackle?
Any suggestions as to what might work for tackle casting from the shore at Bahia de las Angeles? I haven't been or fished there yet and don't really
have much of a clue when it comes to surf fishing anyways, so could use some help! Although I did catch a pretty good halibut off my longboard at San
Miguel yesterday.

Krockidles, swimbaits of every color, Rapalas that are heavy enough to cast. Clams, squid, sand crabs or any other aquatic organism that is local for
bait. Scampi's are always a good bet too......Try everything and let us know what worked, wish I was there to fish with you......dt

Perfect eating size indeed. You can catch them like that all day long from the beach at Campo Serina in Bahia Asuncion.
For a size reference the guy holding the fish is 7'6" and weighs 450#

Maybe someone else can tell me I'm wrong but the surf fishing in the Bay is pretty crappy. Little bass and puffers are about it. Sometimes the sandy
beaches will hold small halibut. This time of year, you can get into cruising sierra and there are small roosters in the south bay.

That was my impression as well. The shore fishing near BOLA gets better as you move north or south of the bay. But I must admit that it's also
relative: a newbie may be happy with an occasional triggerfish or spotted sand bass - especially a youngster.

Looks like really thin tacos!  Some cabbage, guac, and salsa will fill them
out though!

Agreed that north or south of the bay is best for shore fishing. If you have 4x4 (and maybe not necessary but I don't know latest road conditions)
head south to Playa San Rafael especially if you like halibut!!!!!

You can get to Isla Alcatraz and Guadalupe Bay north of there but you need to know what you are doing and where you are going and I'd say 4x4 for
sure. Great leopard grouper fishing from shore though and I've also caught whitefish (tilefish) and sheephead from shore...any rocky outcropping with
darker blue water nearby works best.
