Translation please
Got this Facebook message, I'm guessing it's some sort of gold digger. Yes, Panzich is my last name and I didn't reply, don't have an uncle Jose.
"Noelia BrunskoleEl 20 de septiembre de 2010 a las 21:35

Bill P., The translation goes roughly like this: Hello, my uncle Jose Panzich asked me to search for a cousin named Alan Panzich and lives in
Australia. I would like to know if you are from Australia and know anyone named Alan Panzich? I wait for your answer, thank you very mucha.
Kisses. |
Thanks DR. That name Alan Panzich comes up when I Google myself but is no direct relation.

More likely Argentina.
From the content, could actually be a serious inquiry...

Yup, there's a few that show up in Argentina, again no direct relation.
It does make me wonder how Slavs ended up in Argentina and Australia.
Guess I'll send her a note, thanks!

I think know how some Slavic JEWS ended up there -- pograms and other forms of antisemitism.

Aren't you the least bit curious what kind of information or mis-information might be floating around the web about you?

Mood: I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Lots of Jewish families were lucky to escape Germany and Hitler and lots went to South America and Argentina. Wherever they could escape to is were
they wound up. In the 1970s we got a call and a visit that turned out to be legit from someone from Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) that turned out to be a
relative that escaped N-zi Germany. It was nice to hook up and talk to a part of the family we never new existed.
Take a chance it could be very rewarding but be very, very careful.

As far as I know, there is no Jewish connection in my family. My grandfather (Panzich) came to the US from Yugoslavia in the early 1900's and was
Catholic, my moms side was Czech and also came over about the same time, they were Lutheran.
Unfortunately I no longer have a single living relative to ask any history questions.
