Non-toxic ant poison?

Two cups Club Soda poured directly on top of the mound will kill the ants withing two days, according to reports. The carbon dioxide settles into the underground tunnels and wipes 'em out.

If I may say....
Fire ants "home" can be as deep as 30 feet and from the mound itself......20 to 30 wide. Unless your have a water tank truck full of soda.......it aint going work.

Have read that piles of corn meal will work for ants and for tomato worms---I will be trying both soon!

Diana,
So, do you bread them in the cornmeal and saute them or just whip up some polenta and munch on them al fresco? :?:

Isn't corn meal suppose to make them taste better and remove some of the grit?
Cinnamon will stop them, and dish soap in water will kill them as soon as it hits them.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I was thinking about making some special corn bread.

But the tomato worms are the ones I REALLY dislike, even dipped in corn meal and fried.

how much CO2 do you think will come out of your 2 cups of club soda? and how fast do you think that CO2 will dissipate? think about that before you fall for a load bull sh*t

if you introduce enough gas to displace the O2 and kill the ants, you will also kill the plant roots.

on the other hand, boric acid may work. google it up at the same time you google up CO2 content in club soda.

What the heck is wrong with a tiny smooge of boric acid powder? This stuff works and it snuffs cucarachas and alacranes as well. Point specific, right on an anthill or favorite runway of offenders.

Well dude , I would......but I dont have a tiny enough frying pan for the critter :P

Perhaps anyone here with an ant issue should consider investing in a Myrmecophaga tridactyla.......or two

mcfez, A Myrmeco... tridacyla what?:D You don't need to fry anything. Just dump some Club Soda on the ant mound and see what happens. It's no bigee.

Thought you had meant that I ought to try to eat one :barf:

Myrmecophaga tridactyla wipes out Ants. 100% effective, organic, and needs a little water to work well. Not recommended to keep in your car much less front pocket of your jeans.
