Loreto; lodging with secure parking?
We will be down in Loreto for a week and need someplace to stay that has secure parking as we will have bikes, tools and spare parts for a bike pit we
will be working for the Baja 1000. I have a 12' enclosed trailer that I will be towing along too. Does anybody have a recommendation on a hotel or
casa for us? Thanks

Hotel Angra is nice but their parking lot is pretty small. I would assume that other teams will be trying to do the same thing. The Santa Fe has a
pretty big and secure parking lot.....dt

Any hints on the planned route out of Ensenada... mountain route or coastal route?

On the new paved road... very strange!??
I figured either south from Valle Trinidad through Mikes and on along the mountains east of San Quintin, popping onto Mex. 1 at El Arenoso/ San
Agustin... then either the Pacific route or through L.A. Bay.
OR
to Santo Tomas from Tres Hermanos, past Erendira to San Quintin and then into the hills... ??

Hola fudscrud and welcome to namads ! myself and friends have stayed at hotel angra in loreto and i have been able to park my suv with a 5' x 8'
utility trailer very conveniently and without difficulty. the hotel currently has six of twelve rooms available so it doesn't get very crowded at all.
the parking area is very secure and they close and lock the entry gate at nite. however, there is an arched entry that will not accomodate high
profile vehicles.
rooms are inexpensive but there are no amenities such as a swimming pool but they do have a coffee shop and i believe they include a breakfast,
possibly continental.
being newer, the rooms are large and super clean and they do have cable tv and wifi in the rooms and the rooms are comparable to american style
hotels.
it is one block northerly of one of the main streets so it is very quiet as well.
they are very hands on owner operators and really go out of their way to make you comfortable.

These folks run a first class operation, and have a walled parking lot behind the building. They lock the gate at dusk.

Thanks for the replies everyone, this is a very knowledgeable and helpfull forum. I e-mailed back & forth with Anna at hotel Angra (nice lady).
This would be perfect but it looks like the trailer which is about 8 1/2 ft tall won't make it through the arch to the parking lot.
Hacienda Suites looks good. They ask for a promo code for a discount, Does anybody have one??? We need two rooms for 8 nights which will get a little
spendy for us poor dirt loving guys.
Thanks
