Its near my house in Playas. My brother tells me she wasn't american, she was from Finland, and apparently her boyfriend was involved in the drug trade.

If I was a mexican official- that is the first version of any crime I would throw out there: "Victim not American and drugs involved". So how come they killed the wrong person or not both? A simple strangulation isn't the narco's "signature work"

Strangulation is in fact, the favorite method of killing by cartels. You just don't hear much about those killings because they are not as flashy as using several AK47's in broad daylight.

Anyway, her boyfriend apparently was there during the crime and did not get killed, so hes suspect number one in my book.

How nice. Does the world of tourism know this?
Seems the "cartel" is everywhere.

Woman killed in Tijuana home invasion
By UNION-TRIBUNE

Monday, November 23, 2009 at 6:12 p.m.

TIJUANA – A 54-year-old Finnish citizen was killed late Sunday in the Playas de Tijuana section of the city in what appears to be a home invasion robbery, the Baja California Attorney General’s Office reported.

Kaija Helena Kauppinen Conway was found dead on the second floor of the residence after the attack, with signs on her body indicating she had been beaten, the report said.

The woman’s companion, a U.S. citizen, told investigators that he and the victim were home when two assailants dressed in black and wearing hoods broke into the residence, according to a police source who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to give information to the media. The robbers bound the man’s feet and hands with adhesive tape and demanded to know where the money was located, the source said.

Once the robbers had gone and he was able to free himself, the man said he found Conway dead in the other room, where she had been bound.

At the house, investigators found an identification card indicating Conway was also a legal permanent U.S. resident.

The man is not considered a suspect and is cooperating with authorities.

Here's a video of the perp giving his alibi:

At the very end the assistant AG is saying that the guy is a crystal meth addict and has priors in the US for violent robbery, house robbery and DUI.

WTF- the PGJE posts on YouTube now? How's that for getting their message out without needing the "biased and inflamatory" traditional media...

How can you say Justifiable?

I loved her, and this, through people like you is how I have to hear about her!

Do you feel that way because you are capable of the same?
