Long term rental

I am going to retire late next year and I would love to move to the Loreto area. I would like to rent while looking for a home purchase or land to build on. How would I go about finding a decent rental. Thanks

About Dennis's response: Words of a wise man !

Submit lots of questions to the neighbors about the seller / lessor. Hidden secrets lay there...

I know that around here, if you come and talk to and deal with the locals, one is apt to find a much better deal for a long term rental than if you do it over the internet.

And a lot depends on what you are looking for and what will be right for you---best to look first and avoid surprises. Our experience has been that it has been that way everywhere we have lived.

I very much agree with the visit and ask lots of questions from lots of different people that was suggested. Also think about the different possibilities for buying land----and ask lots of people about the different ways that are suggested. Some ways are safer than others---some are legal, but not safe.

Loreto is fairly small and trying to look over a year in advance probably is going to be difficult. your best bet for something you'd actually want to live in is going to be renting from a gringo. that said, come on down and check the place out in general. visit and look and see, make contacts, and talk to everyone...question everything! hope you find something that works for you.

reality\'s never been of much use out here...
