Check your owners manual to be safe. I think you would probably need to disconnect the drive shaft.

You'll need a seperate insurance policy for a towed vehicle.
I know you know that, but a reminder can't hurt.

"what would I have to do to the truck to make it towable?"
connect it to the hitch before you drive away?

Can't tow a Tacoma auto with 4 wheels down. Get a trailer or Remco Disconnect. Manual is probably OK but MH doesn't list a '07 Tacoma at all.
An alternative is to have someone drive the truck.

Lots of unemployed drivers standing around Home Depot in the AM. Give one the keys and a credit card and leave the driving to him.

that midland says "water resistant". does that mean it'll go for a swim and still work? or do i need to upgrade to "water proof"?

Midland Radios---------Only if you swim with your 2-way. They are so cheap (on sale) that you can replace them when they stop working. And the new
one's claim up to 26 mile transmitting------which means that they are good for up to about 5 miles from my experience.

Yes, it is a marine radio on vhf, comes with a waterproof case.............if you have slippery fingers, use a lanyard.
This model IS waterproof:

OLA,be advised the midland is a lot cheaper,in price and quaity, its basicly a toy,I install electrical stuff on boats for a living as a boat mechainic
and also a radio geek!! you get what you pay for...the only radio I will install for my custermer is a Icom or stantard...why...cause they work..and
the Icom M-32 has 20hr batt duty and a opt. AA batt tray and is waterproof, belive me I know,I stored my binocs and my icom uder a seat and went out in
the middle of the bay for salmon fishing,I saw a boat in the distance and went retrive my binocs to look a boat and the live bait tank had filled with
water! oops. not my boat .flusded with fresh water and no
proplem..by the way the best boat for baja 15-5 livingston hands down

Yes, Woody, I mis-lead you. Sorry. I was referring to the non-Marine Midland radios, a knee-jerk response without reading things properly. I also
have the Marine radios, and they are impressive for the price.
