This observation is a little off the actual BB gun legality topic but is one those "Ok in Mexico, These days are gone in the US ...."
There was a traveling carnival in town last weekend. Rides, sideshows, skill games, etc. One of the skill games was a shooting gallery. With real
BB guns.
The attendant would load 20 BB's into the single pump guns and hand it to whomever gave him 20 pesos. Some 4 and 5 yr old boys were pretty good at
hitting targets, just not all of the targets were in the shooting gallery.
Just to make sure that those kids (and any other overimbibing adults) didn't get too out of hand, there was also a strong police presence at the
carnival. About twenty cops, Policia Preventiva, some quite well armed with full automatic rifles...

Let's put this question of pellet guns to rest..once and for all.

try this........a CO2 powered golf ball or tennis ball launcher. Using a golf ball, I can plink a can at about 600 yards with this puppy!!!!

That would definitely improve my golf game. Gotta get me one of those.

A while back, Mex passed a law which allowed
one to have a small amount of Marijuana
for personal consumption, no one raised
their hand to to volunteer to be the first
test case, just roll up to a checkpoint with
a bag of weed on the front seat. I like the
phrase Driving While Gringo, maybe
something is technically legal, but
sometimes not worth the what if's

For sure. I don't think that law was passed for foreigners anyway. It was coupled with a rehab program. I doubt Mexico wants to send a gringo to
rehab.

bajaguy, Plink a can at 600 yards? Are you sure? I can't do that with my Remington 700 30.06. Wonder what it'd do if you loaded it with a pint of dried rice or corn kernals?

Cypress......just a tongue in cheek response...not accurate to plink cans, however can get pretty close to a specific target...but I can get 400-600
yards out of a golf ball depending on the CO2 PSI I put into the air chamber.
With the tennis ball barrel I can get about 100/150 yards......great for launching tennis balls at the beach for the dogs to chase

I just saw a Ruger pellet rifle that had a 1500 fps muzzle speed. That could be lethal.

Bajaguy, That's still a mean looking contraption you've got there. I'd throw my hands up if it was pointed at me.
805gregg, Pellet rifles have always been deadly, on the same par with a .22 short.
