looks like you never got an answer ... we just went to rays this past saturday and boy ... it was as great as everyone says..... the hard part was
going down those stairs .... gotta watch the margarita count for sure !!
now I heard there was a wild WILD party there a couple weeks ago, but it was quiet and contained last Saturday. Which is really good since I am not
sure I can handle wild any more. those days are loooooooooooong gone

I have been to some wild parties at Ray's Place. Blanca, for some reason I think that you would be right there in the mix next to me. We are heading
down Saturday, glad to hear that Ray's is open.
What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

I totally agree, BajaBlanca...Ray is a great host. In that last photo of mine, Ray is waiting or us with a glass of my favorite red wine.
Gracias,amigo!

"I learned my lesson twice at Santispac."
actually that is impossible.
learning is a definitive. you either do or don't - consider lab rats.
you may have learned on the second time. the 1st time you didn't learn.
therefore you didn't learn twice, you learned once.
hahahaha
sorry i switched back to undecaf.

Leftovers are always good at MI casa..why not Ray's?
JUST KIDDING, RAY!!
Marc. we have always had impeccable meals at Ray's...and we are sorry you had a bad experience. A little surprised, too. Personally, I can report
only positive results from all my dining experiences with Ray's cooking..whether at his old place at Santispac, my home, or his cafe in Mulege now.
Since he first arrived on the food scene here in the Bay years ago, I don't know anybody who ever got sick...or heard of any (up until your report)
Perhaps it was an anomaly for you. I doubt there is a restaurant in the world that has not had a patron get ill. I once upchucked some perfectly
good lutefisk in Oslo..and then that time in Scotland with the haggis on CoPilot's lap..
I know Ray pays particular attention to freshness in all his shopping selections, as I have shopped alongside him on several occasions in a couple
tiendas in Mulege. He's damn picky. It goes in the kitchen fresh..and the food on your table is as fresh as it gets.
Hey Mike..I learned my lesson, too...once only!

i did have bad calimari steak at rays once when he was on the beach.
but other than that i have had only 5 star culinary de-lites there, old and new spots.
i can't imagine how he could be so consistant at the beach with only bottled gas and a genset. incredible perseverence and guts. hard work for sure
but that beach bar rocked!

MIke, If I get your meaning, you are imply that Ray is consistantly good in preparing great meals with only bottled gas
and a genset...
Actually..All of us homeowners are off grid in the Bay..in one respect or another. No powerlines or municipal utilities...yet. Propane fridges,
solar power, gensets large & small... and Yankee ingenuity win the day.
Ergo: If we are all consistant with your observations, then it only remains to declare anyone who actually lives in the Bay ALL great
chefs, no? Me included!?
...interesting concept....it has started a brain event...hold on, this may take a bit...........................................
ATTENTION: I am starting a patio cafe at mi casa. I'll call it Platter d'PompanoCo-Pilot ..and serve to the tastes of more
refined beachbums.
Unless you can think of a DIFFERENT NAME....???

I took a hit last year when i told you people got sick there.
Now Rays sells old leftovers?
Pompano does not care?
Is this a good thing?
Does Ray still have a plan to go south?
Has anyone asked?
