Best time crossing Norte during Christmas

I've heard some stories about trying to cross north during Christmas time. I've never done it though. Can someone advise me what the best plan of attack should be??

I'm planning on coming back up the 24th. Should I stay longer/shorter? Should I go through Tecate?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. :)

11pm-1am at SY should be pleasant.....

edit: but-you realize that what you are asking is like asking for tomorrows winning lottery numbers?:light:

Hit it Christmas morning about dawn! I bet 10 minutes max (that`s San Ysidro, or Otay or Tecate)!!!

Any time Christmas day will be easy. Zero work or shopping traffic.

OK so crossing the 25th will be OK, what about the 24th?

Im not asking for exact times, more just trying to figure out if its going to be worse than your normal day, or better.

The last time I crossed on the 24th was pre 911. Going out wasn't bad, but I promised someone I'd make a quick stop at Costco for a crummy bottle of cheap Champaign.....90 minutes in the store and the border coming back south was a nightmare.
Lots of K-Mart shoppers going in both directions. I wouldn't do it again.

So going North on the 24, at least in your experience wasn't a "nightmare"... right? :)

The later in the day better it seems. It's always a crap shoot. AM 600 gives a report every 15 mins. If it's over 2 hours or less then 10 min they don't give it:lol::lol::lol:

Whoa! OK man, yes, I was talking to you. I thought you said going south was a nightmare, not north. By "going out" I thought you meant "heading north", and you said "wasn't bad". Sorry for a misunderstanding, thats why I was just making sure.

I've crossed the border a zillion times, I just haven't ever done it on Christmas, I was just trying to get anyone's opinion cause I've heard both stories. :(
