Here we go!

We've been enjoying the Baja Nomad website for years, dreaming...
Guess what! Heading down hwy 15 as we speak with our first camper:) spending the night in El Centro to get supplies!
Think were set.. But one question! Is the immigration office easy to spot at the Mexicali border to get out FMM's stamped??

Hello Bajasuzie,

Unless it has changed since May, the office will be on the left side of the street just after you enter into Mexico. Very easy to spot...

If things are congested at the Mexicali crossing, hard to park, wait until you get just outside of San Felipe and go down to the airport. Quick and easy also they will take your money and you don't have to find a bank.

We got lucky! While they were looking around in the camper, I ran in and got our FMM's done! It really helps to to have already your FMM's with you. They did make him move out of the lane but my husband sat in traffic with the emergency blinkers on. Probably couldn't get away with that for very long. Can't imagine trying to find a place to park!
There is lots of construction in front of immigrations..do you suppose they will have some place to park when it's done? Looks like it!
We are settled in at Kiki's campground!
In San Felipe.. highly reccommend it!
Thanks everyone for your help!

Kiki's campground!
Ya....sort of cool with them highrise overhangs :-)
There's a arena right there in the area...see if there events going on. Thats fun to attend.

Let us know how that works out... The officials at the airport are there to issue FMMs to pilots. I wonder if a bunch of auto travelers show up how that may change things? However, all that cash may be nice for him to 'process'???

Too bad they don't allow the border customs agents to accept the FMM money so the trip to the bank can be avoided at the borders without bank tellers right there, like Tecate.

I was told by immigration personnel at the San Felipe airport that they only issue cards to people arriving by air.

I guess for James, a little extra 'grease' on the palms during the hand shake may have helped???
