BCS Notary recommendations?
Notaries are very powerful people in Mexico. What notary comes well recommended in BCS? Efficient, honest, reliable in dealing with real estate
transactions and tax issues.
What experiences can be shared about paying capital gains taxes when buying or selling property in BSC.
Horror stories are many. Any great experiences out there?

We have always used #7 Hector Castro Castro with good results. If you are looking at paying large capital gains it is best to re-manifest the
property, it will cost a bit but cheaper than the capital gains.

I have to agree with Skeet..Miguel has been very fair in getting the process done, and communicates very well in e-mails to follow up...

Guillermo Santillan Meza
Notario #20 in Santa Rosalia (615-152-1470), if you need work in the Santa Rosalia area or Mulege Municipo (area).
Guillermo did all of our corp., purchase, and title work for us. He was efficient, and did excellent work.
We also utilized a wonderful young woman in Santa Rosalia named Julieta Medina Oronoz ( julietabaja@hotmail.com ) who was a huge help
with translating, and coordinating for us. We absolutely love Julieta and have kept in touch with her as a friend.
A few (5) years ago, the Notarios in BCS met and agreed to try to recognize regions that Notarios would serve (accept clients from).... when we
returned to Guillermo for another task, he informed us of that, but of course since he had already done (and knew) our work, he happily abliged.
I just mention that in case you run into it... I don't know if it has made a difference in seeking Notarios' services...
I did a lot of studying, and reading and researching and was committed to doing EVERYthing properly and legally so as to avoid any problems down the
road. I've had no legal woes or problems.... (knock on wood).

I have also used Notario #7 w/o problems. Castro Castro in La Paz. What do the Pacenos say?? In Todos Santos #7 has a representative that
means no more trips to La Paz are needed! What area do you live in? Re Manifest ?? Newer, lower appraised value? Good Luck. Tio

manifesting the value of all the improvements you have done to the property, you need an engineer to do the valuation I believe. I know several who
have done the process locally.

In La Paz, I have used #7 Castro Castro with bad results. Not impressed at all with his nonchalant inattentive and mostly absent service, his office's
lack of attention to even the most basic details, indifference to a broken photocopier in his office, and the fact that his office had to be prompted
for everything and even had to resupply his office with paper work that they lost track of. Not impressed with his lack of understanding of the law of
agency. Neither he nor his staff were the least bit proactive and never received communications from him. I had to contact his office first for
everything.
That has been my experience. I am shocked that out of all the La Paz Notarios that there were two posts here that singled him out as "good". Please
keep in mind I am not making any comments on the veracity of the other two posts, I am just merely recounting my experience.
