Auto Insurance ?
Lewis & Lewis seem to advertise the best price on Full-Coverage Insurance.
Anybody have any Good-Bad-Ugly opinions of the Coverage ?

Unfortunatly my opinion of them is ugly. A freind of mine had to file a claim and needed help from Lewis and Lewis to deal wih the ins company and
they were no help at all. I now deal with an agent in Ensenada.

He writes ins for the same companies as Lewis and Lewis but his brokerage fees are much less. Send him an email and see if he can help you out.

I always use AAA, may be more but they have NEVER let me down. Yes I know they are not the provider but it is good to have a trusted company in your
corner.

I'll check the otras out.
I'm only interested in 6 mo - One year policies. I DO have a Liability Driver's License policy (for the last 20 years probably) for both of us and
that's all I've ever had even when the trucks were new, but the Esposa is Paranoid over the New one and wants a full-coverage policy for, at least,
awhile.
Bajabound's 6-12 months from various insurers all seem significantly higher for the same coverage than Lewis & Lewis and I had wondered why.
Their lower being Roughly, $50 (on a six-month policy) more.
Since you never know how good your insurance is until you actually have a claim, it's tough. After almost 50 years Having never had a claim for a
"Fault" accident on either side of the border, I'm in the dark.
And, hope to remain so.

Bill, I do think they all can give you quotes online... I know DiscoverBaja.com does... and you do need to join for the group rate ($39/ year). So,
you can compare...

I have not personally used them, but I too have heard suspect things about Lewis & Lewis. Short term - Bajaboujnd. Long term I agree that AAA is
a good option. All around, AAA seem to just do solid business.

I also vote for Baja Bound. I have never had a claim but they are very responsive to questions etc. I never know exactly what date I am going to cross
the border and their online system is excellent. You just log on to change the effective date (obviously beforehand- not after crossing the border) In
my case I carry a printer and I just print the new policy with the correct effective date.

I have L&L, I've tried to pay attention to Mex Auto Ins posts
over time, I've yet to come up with totally solid references
to a particular US Broker, or Mex Ins Co. To me, the most important
party in the 4 way affair, ( policy holder, US Broker,
Mex Ins Co., Mex Ins Adjuster) is PERHAPS
the Mex Ins Adjuster. To have a professional, timely,
English speaking Adjuster is of the utmost importance.
I think far too many Gringos believe the US Brokers have way more
influence than they actually have. If you are involved
in an incident, you will be dealing PRIMARLY with the Mex
Ins Co., not the US broker. Contrary to a post or 2 above,
I've never read anything negative on L&L, I remember
a post which reported Jim Lewis paying someone out of
pocket when the Mex Ins Co., Qualitis refused.
I like L&L's libility of $500,000, some think this is overkill,
not me. Correction, the standard libility is $300,000

You might check Alanis agency in San Felipe.
I had a claim on my homeowners insurance with them and was more than satisfied with the service.
