Just south of where the road joins Hwy1 on the right hand side, you can't miss the wine cask. Fdt very good map of town. El Trailero is north and on
the side of the road, I hope the tips are better where she works.

this fabulous restaurant is called Ophelias and is superb...we were there last weekend and the menu is fantastic...It took me half an hour to decide
what to order. They have a vast, unique, delectable choice including lamb chops, quail, pork chops in fig sauce(it was awesome) salmon, tuna, sashimi,
steak of course and the appetizers are to die for...seared tuna with chitake mushrooms in some outrageous sauce...lots of great mushroom thingies and
the best was the gnocci?? that were fresh fat shrimp wrapped in the most delicious spinach...really the best meal I've had yet in baja.
They have a wine bar...the decor is nice including an outdoor patio out back, nice art and music is great...fantastic service and the owner/chef
circulates to the tables and is a very very amiable guy and his gorgeous wife makes sure everything is perfect....they are all bilingual as they have
an american mom and mexican dad. One of their chefs also does cooking courses and there is an art gallery upstairs.
It's easy to get to as it's right on the highway...so stop in and ask for sirenita so they know we sent you...you wont regret it!

gnocci is my favorite dish in the woooooooooorld. I had it in EVERY restaurant we went to in Italy.
defintely ready for a visit to Ophelia's next time we head north.
Les makes a Polish dumpling called KOPITKA which is very similar to gnocci ... Mike Younghusband was lucky to have some the first day here came to La
Bocana .... yummmmmmmmmmmm

Same here.
Mom used to make them from scratch - on the kitchen table.
First she would boil the potatoes and then strain them through this shiny thingamajig that had small holes in it through which the potatos were forced
through.
Eggs and flour were added to this mound and then kneaded repeatedly.
Finally this batter-like-object was cut into large chunks and rolled out into long sausage-shaped objects. If it stuck to the table you had to toss
out more flour and keep rolling.
Then these structures were cut into 1" pieces and pressed with a kitchen fork to make those distinctive ridges.
Drop them into boiling water (they sink) and remove as soon as they float to the top.
O bozhe moi! What a lot of work.
And that was before we hooked up with the Russians and learned to make pelmeni from scratch.

Would the name of this restaurant be spelled Ofelia's? Since, the spanish language does not recognize the ph as an "f" sound?
i.e. Alfonsina's in Gonzaga Bay.
