You will find that buying a 6 month or one year policy is less expensive than a 5 or 6 week policy

My suggestion is Bajabound (see banner at top of this page) a great guy, a great business and a Baja Nomad supporter!!!

Folks... ONLY ONE company sponsors this web site to help keep it here for all of us to enjoy... http://www.BAJABOUND.com

I trust BajaGeoff and his partners and have bought daily policies from them starting 10 years ago...

You can do it all from your PC and printer at home, before your trip... Just pick the days you will be in Mexico.

They can also give you annual policies if you travel often or stay in Mexico more than 2-3 weeks... Annual policies are less expensive than 3 weeks of a daily policy (at least in my case).

I second this recommendation for Bajabound and Geoff in particular, although all the folks in the office are great help. I had my first accident in over 40 years last November just south of Ensenada. Geoff and the folks have been with me through the entire claims process, including translating with the insurance claims guy via the phone right on the accident site. It got complicated because I got "sandwiched" with both front and rear damage. I got my truck repaired up here and am just now finishing the final details on the claim. As always, the devil is in the details and Geoff has been with me every step of the way.

Their prices and coverage are excellent - I got the 90 days / year policy since, while I am a frequent Baja traveller, my trips usually add up to just less than 90 days down south. Be sure to insure for the real value of your vehicle, I underestimated my truck's value just a bit and after the accident I did the research I should have done BEFORE I bought my policy. I will be upgrading from the $15K to the $20K value bracket.

Hola,

has anyone else used any companies policy in an accident and if so, what was your experience, good and bad ?

i've had vagabundos six month coverage for a number of years as it stretches over a year of coverage but for intermittent periods of time totaling six months of travels.

it's a bit curious as to how they have the ability to monitor it for the six month time frame in multiple crossings over that one year time frame ?

i thank you in advance,

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT
