2011 Icehouse Road (Mulege) to San Jose de Magdalena
Last year a couple jeeps went from San Jose de Magdalena south to Km 14 and took a horrible, hardly noticeable track back to Hwy 1 because the road
over the mountains to Guadaloupe did not look promising. Has anyone tried it this year??
Gracias por tu ayuda.

There're a few isolated farms/ranches in that area, they come and go back and forth from Mulege.

I was wondering about that. Since Jimena I wasn't sure whether the road would be worth reinventing over the pass.

Yes, the drive to the coast is an accomplishment. Not the easiest trip, to say the least.
However, I was interested in going North thru Estanislao to Guadalupe to SJ de Magdalena.
Any help with this route??

Yep....turn north at the Estanslao "Y" junction (west of Mulege...marked w/ old metal signs), head towards Guadalupe mission....turn right
(northeast) where the road goes westerly to Guadalupe)...and continue northerly....the road turns east after a while at the top of a rise at El
Intermedio (like a pass)....and enjoy the ride through canyons before coming out through Magdalena.
Baja Almanac has it all....
Coming out of Magdalena heading east to Hwy !:

More than ten years we made the trip and were glad that we had shopped in Mulege for fresh fruit. Children living in remote ranchos thought manna from
heaven had arrived when we started passing out oranges and apples.

I'm planning on doing this ride on my M/C in the next day or 2. Any other M/C riders in Mulege want to join me? I'm staying at Cuesta Real -- the only
Colorado plated RV.
