To SkyMedBarbara and others, please

Hi,

We would like know a few things about the service. I would ask this privately in a U2U, but I think there may be others who might be interested.

Will they land on dirt airstrips like the one at Bahia Asuncion, or Abreojos?

If not, will they land at Guerrero Negro?

What is needed for them to respond?

How long does it take them to respond?

What is the basic cost, +/- ?

And what experiences has anyone else had with their services?

I think medical evacuation is a very important service.

Thanks

There has been strings here about this before. It seems that is the big problem. In an emergency you need to get yourself to a major airport, which is life threatening in itself.

They need some smaller planes that can land at places like the dirt strips Diana mentioned, and like The Hotel Serenidad strip in Mulege.

Barbara, I am sure you will correct me if I am wrong.

That is what I remembered from before, but I was hoping it had changed.

I think you are surfing the Information Highway, Woody.

Good idea though. To be an effective emergency airlift service they need helicopters or small planes that can access the scene of an accident. :light:

Evac

Look at the SPOT web site:

http://www.findmespot.com/en/index.php

You can get evac insurance through them, for an upgrade, the GEOS "come and get me anywhere" plan:

http://www.findmespot.com/en/index.php?cid=104

........."If you upgrade your service to include the GEOS SAR Member Benefit and require it, GEOS will even locate a private SAR contractor and coordinate the SAR response.

Only once you are safely out of harm’s way and being treated in a hospital (if necessary) with your family notified, does the IERCC stand down and declare the incident closed."
