San Felipe - moving a large craft
Anyone from San Felipe can answer this question......it be much appreciated.
If you live in SF.....then you have seen this boat many times down at the old ship yard. My question is this....is there a way to move this ship seven
miles north (by land) to the edido (across the street from Campos Ocotillo)?
Any leads, useful tips, or ideas would be great.

Convert it onto a restaurant or a really big taco stand. Remember the Dolphin Remph on the Embarcadero in SF? (that's the real SF= San Francisco)

I am looking into setting this rig up at our land outside of SF (not our Campos land). Counter sink it into the sand and rework it into a house.

I can take Moby to Shell Island and set up a bar there!
From our land up on the higher plains of SF....we can view the Sea. We plan to heavily populate the land with trees, add a horse corral, caretaker
quarters, and our little house (boat). Normally a 1 year project in the states...but in Baja....maybe 5 years!

Deno I think termites will be a problem if you counter sink it in the ground. Unless a way to keep water away from it, gravel with drain pipes etc.
I bet you could find a mexican with an idea of how to move it.
Why not just cut off the top part you want and build a cement basement to put it on? Still look like old ship but not have termite etc problems and
have a good foundation with more space. Could probably move top on a Lowboy.

Well? Are you and Val in from Alaska? I believe you said the 15th for arrival to the Campos. I'll get my old sofa off your porch that I was using,
while you at the other house :-)
The hull I believe can be long termed addressed. A heavy coat of linseed oils, several coats of tar....and ? The surrounding sands will be addressed
as well. Plastic liner to underground access tubes for insecticide liquids. Lots of research yet to come on this. Not the first time I have done some
crazy ideas :-)
The lower hull.... supplies a vast amount of space...I want that. The sleeping quarters are to be under the soil line for cooling effects.
You know....we wanted to do this at the "Y". Jeanette told me not to do it, for the residents would have cows! I thought it would had be cool to drive
in the Campos....and be greeted with a cool ship in an landscape. But you all got my "park" to look at :-)
This idea has been biting me for 7 years now. I'm exploring how to make this happen. We do need a place for our horses....

I seen lots of rot in boats and humans :-)
This subject of rot is incredible. I have my work on research cut out for this subject.
Once the boat is secured and all the plans look like it might be a feasible thing to do......the boat will be put up on stands such as a dry dock
does.....using hydrodynamic lifts. We will then fix / reinforce the interior as well as the exterior (s)....before lowering into the excavation. From
that point.....conversion into living quarters.
I am just going to surprise the wife with this project....she keeps wanting to take the horses down there...and we dont have a set up for that.
