Puerto Chale? Been there?

Piqued by the mapping of Mike's burro trip, I see Puerto Chale on the map situated near estuaries and bays, and a road right to it. Has anyone been there? Looks like it might be a nice place to do some flat water kayaking, fishing. Is there a village?

I stayed out there with a group of kids in the early 90's. Just this time of year. We camped on the bluff above the estuary. The locals were pleasant and supplies were somewhat available. We launched our 12 foot starcraft and actually made it out to the Isla Margarita....through the whales all the way. Launching has to be at high tide or you are dragging your craft through the muddy inlet. We camped on the island for 3 days. Costeau was out there filming whales surfing into the N inlet of the island. Good hiking on the island. No water was found.
Returning was a bit freaky as the wind had picked up. Check it out for alternative whale watching.

gray whales surfing there has got to be one of the most amazing whale sights ever....super cool.

as a side note or highjack...gray whale photo ID was born because of the now famous gray whale researcher Dr.Jim Darling noticed while he was surfing with gray whales that they were the same whales every day which led to the discovery of "resident gray whales" along vancouver island's coast.
