Texting to a Telcel phone in Baja?

Can I text from my AT&T phone to a Telcel cell phone in Baja? If so, is it expensive for the receiver of the text?

Not a problem for me. Can't say how expensive since my company picks up the tab. (I really should know; I own the company)

Yes just do it as you would normally, you may have them call your phone and hang up after one ring to see that you have the correct intl code and 10 digit phone number. You may need to check to see that your ATT phone allows intl texting. Just try it and see. The costs should not be extreme, generally in the .20 range but you'll need to try and see. It could be higher for att.

There are also web sites and web phones that allow for texting for example skype I think. Also Telcel's website has a form to send texts to users though I don't know the requirements, you may need to have a telcel account as well and passcode.
