Diesel
I'm watching diesel inch up to almost $4.00 per gallon here in the high desert area. Anyone purchase diesel lately in Mexicali and San Felipe? If so,
what is it going for? Thanks

Funny, I just posted a rant on my facebook page that I paid $4.05 for diesel here in San Luis Obispo, and was comparing it to what I would be paying
at home in Baja.
It's crazy, and it's not even the holiday season yet.

While you're waiting for local confirmation (hopefully?)...
According to the following article, in Tijuana the recent price is $3.13 a gallon (9.01 pesos/liter),
Prices should be same/similar - or possibly somewhat less - in Mexicali and/or San Felipe.

Saw it for $4.09US/gal in Orange County, CA, on Monday.
Just purchased it for $9.01pesos/liter in Maneadero on Friday and the same price just across Otay Mesa border on Sunday.

I just copied what was posted in that article... but doing the math....
9.01 pesos/liter
x 3.785 liters per US gallon
----------------------
34.10285 pesos/gallon
----------------------
/12.185 pesos/dollar (exchange rate per Google)
----------------------
=US$2.80/gallon.
(or $2.84 at straight 12 to 1 conversion rate)
Please feel free to help me out if I'm missing something here in the conversion.

I wish I lived just a wee bit closer to the border so I could run across to fill up.

Math looks right. But the exchange they were giving at the station just on the Mex side of Otay (is that Tijuana?) was 11.85pesos: $1dollar. Further
south in Maneadero, they were giving 11.6pesos: $1dollar.
The dollar is hurting right now. I only got 12:1 at a fish taco stand in Ensenada. Everyone else was below 12.
