Mulege dentist

Any recommendations for a good dentist in Mulege? I have a relative that needs some extensive dental work. We are moving to the Mulege area and he could stay with us while getting the dental work completed. Thanks Ron

Yes, Pompano went to Los Algodones for his extensive dental work.

bajalou,

Yes that's true, after he had a very painful experience resulting from a dentist in the Mulege area.

in Loreto there are a number of good general dentists. I know at least one has a specialist come up from La Paz once a month or so for things like implants. however someone needing 'extensive' dental work would be better off in Algondones or La Paz.

reality\'s never been of much use out here...

Thanks. I was hoping to have an excuse to have them stay with us but I do remember one of Pompano's posts saying he wasn't happy with a Mulege dentist. Looks like they will need to get a hotel in Loreto or La Paz or maybe in Yuma and walk across the border. We had an excellent dentist in Ensenada but again I was hoping to have an excuse to have them stay with us in the Mulege area. Thanks for the input. Ron

There are a couple of good dentists in Santa Rosalia and everyone that I have talked to liked them. I can get the names and phone numbers if that is of interest.

Pescador- that would be great. No rush. We won't be relocated for a few months. My guess is that the relative would not be looking to get dental work completed before Sept or Oct. Thanks Ron

Oh yes, you might say that was an experience. :wow:

This reading is not for the timid. My 'event' was extraordinary and not your normal dental visit. (Plus it involved food poisoning in Mulege. The highly recommended dentist I had made my appoint)ment with was gone to Paz on an emergency...and the work performed by 'someone else'. Don't bother to ask who, I will not condemn any dentists anywhere..they are what they are. You will decide yours from your preliminary list of recommendations and homework.

I should have followed my first gut assessment in my situation. My bad. I paid the piper.

Personally, I would go to Algodones/Yuma every time.

I had a chance to speak to the relative this morning. What he needs is dental implants. Any specific recommendation (whether in Santa Rosalia, La Paz. , Algodones or anywhere else in Baja will be greatly appreciated. ) Ron

Your welcomed.
I have done plenty of reading about med and dental services in Baja (not mainland). Algodones is always in the top listings of great services. Plenty of good rooms for overnight stays. I myself will be there soon for a med issue.

I looked into a dental implant in La Paz several years ago and was quoted a $1200 to $1300 price per tooth.
Ended up going with caps, bridging the front tooth that required an implant. Did this in Loreto and the result was more than satisfactory. 4 upper front teeth $ 500.00.
