Scorpion light recommendation?
I've done some research on line, but would like to hear from anyone who loves their lights. Can you give me a recommendation?

works GREAT!!!
lots of FUN "hunting" in the summer
in the winter they go away

I bought one on Amazon.com for about $15 last year, and it works great. No need to spend big bucks. We could see a scorpion in the sand from about
25' away - totally amazing tool. Every Baja explorer should have one, unless they don't want to know how many scorpions are lurking EVERYWHERE.
And a sidenote - from the website reviews it appears that most folks buy them for checking out how nasty their hotel bathrooms and bedspreads are, as
evidently certain body fluids also glow under a blacklight. But that's a different topic.

Dang, I just bought one and there is no name on it. From some online outfit I think Amazon.
Google 51 LED ultraviolet flashlight
It's anodized aluminum black in color and at first appears to be 2D-cell in size. Of course it has 51 LED's in the head and a pushbutton on and off
switch.
Further I.D. the barrel is knurled, and has various machined flats and cosmetic countersinks which makes it look nice and feel good in the hand.
This model flashlight must have the batteries loaded on the end opposite the LED's. DO NOT TRY TO OPEN OR EVEN TWIST THE LED END!
When the endcap opposite the LED's is opened the battery "cartridge" slides out. It holds 3 AA batteries. I use regular alkaline batteries because
many NIMH AA batteries are too fat and the cap is hard to slide in and almost impossible to remove once it is in. The three AA batteries seem to last
around four hours which is a lot.
Not all scorpions fluoresce evenly. The bad-boy Baja yellow alacranes light up the brightest. On a dark night with no other glare, this lamp will
fluoresce a one inch scorpion enough for it to clearly show at a distance of more than twenty feet. Use it on the palm fronds on a palapa and the
buggers will stand out like christmas tree lights.

Same here...eBay purchase. Very inexpensive model. But still a lot of fun. Add c-cktails and you've got yourself an event.
