Poll: How does the extra radiation feel?
Just polling how all Nomads on the West Coast of US, Canada and Baja are doing with the arrival of the Japanese radiation.

It's great, I have such a glow that I don't need to turn the lights on the house and I can change channels on the TV by blinking.

I worked at the San Onofre Nuke plant for parts
of 30 yrs. Have stood looking into the spent fuel
pool, been in bubble suits. The older I get the
more sceptical I am. I don't believe much.

I am saving big money today.
No visit to the tanning salon today.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Potassium Iodide Sold Out!
Geez. Being five thousand miles from the site, and given that whatever ultimately happens, it would not be like Chernobyl where the whole thing
expoded, just consider this-
"Cigarette Smoking
Besides carbon dioxide, tar, and nicotine, cigarette smoke also contains radioactive lead and polonium, enough to result in a radiation exposure of
1300 mrem/year to a 1.5 pack a day smoker. Each cigarette smoked can also be equated to one chest x-ray, and a non-smoker living with a smoker may
receive the equivalent of 12 chest x-rays per year as a result of second-hand smoke. Perhaps the easiest radiation exposure to control is this one: If
you smoke, stop; if you don’t smoke, don’t ever start. Whenever possible, minimize your exposure to other people’s smoke. For more information about
smoking, see the Quitting Smoking Fact Sheet."

The comments are hilarious. Here's the best one:
"Wait until the proper authorities tell Tokyo residents that not only should they not give tap water to infants, but do not give it to anyone who was
ever an infant."
The fallout here in L.A. feels oddly like rain.

Some old folks and people with chronic illness swear that a little bit of radiation does the body good.
Radiation-radon therapy is available in several locations in Europe and at 4 old mines in Montana. People go into these mines - sit, soak in water,
breath steam.... and claim that the effects of the low-level radon gas improves their health.
