"Classy" places in Tijuana to take my wife
Does anyone know Tijuana well enough to suggest a good restaurant or diversion in Tijuana? I would like for her and I to walk across the border to
spend a nice day via Taxi.
Thanks,
-Ken

A Couple More
Mision 19, Javier Plascencia's new restaurant and currently the "hottest" place in town.
For nostalgia, Caesar's Restaurant, also by Javier Plascencia, newly renovated and revitalized.

Cien Años... but maybe they are gone?
How about Palma Azul.. authentic Baja California specialties?
That was back in 2004.

I Wanted to Mention Cien Anos Also
But I haven't heard anything or been there for a long time.
I am pretty sure Palma Azul is closed.

For a classy pick, I would agree with Ron.......Villa Saverios is outstanding. Hard to find a more classy dining room in TJ than that one. The food,
last time we were there, was excellent. Tell your bride that they dress up there!
Ken
(I too was a fan of Cien Anos, but it has been 8-10 years since we were there and they may have folded.)

Hi There Ken...
Check out this story from the SD U/T Bulldog edition on Saturday...

Sounds like 'El Taller' might be a good choice to try. Very popular with the locals.
Hope you enjoy yourselves!

La Differencia gets my vote. Had a wonderful experience there with Carol & Hugh Kramer of Discover Baja.
Breakfast or Lunch I go to Restaurant La Espadana (sorry, no tilde) just down the street.
Mom always told me to be different - Now she says...Not THAT different

This is the truth. When you get more than two Colombianas together, the competition begins. Its really funny to watch.

A couple of years ago I was taken to some Argentinean restaurant near a cluster of nice places in TJ ... it was very good and had a very nice
atmosphere. The only problem was they suggested I try their "special house drink" and I did, but it came in a little pitcher and after finishing it I
practically had to be carried out and I lost memory of what the name of the place was. They also had some weird orange salsa which they warned me to
be careful with, so I did the opposite thinking I can handle anything and that stuff was actually painful for a good 30 minutes (the special house
drink got rid of the pain) Does anyone possibly have an idea where this place is in TJ? I'd love to go back, but I'll be more careful next time.

That would be Cheripan.

Nothing personal but I haven't seen a positive post from you in a long time. Somebody run over your dog or something? Pop a cold one and look on the
bright side for a change. You're going to die of stomach ulcers or high blood pressure with that outlook...

I did the whole tour a couple weeks back. My favorite was hands down Caesars in revolucion, great food, great old Tijuana feel to it, and great old
school service. Saverios in my opinion wasn't as sharp as in the past. Casa Plasencia doing great. El Taller was so not worth it. Cienaños has lost
its way, and la querencia is pretty good. Cheripan is fake fake fake to me, average food, but nice decor if your 20 yrs old. I do agree Mission 19 is
the hottest ticket in town.

Thanks for your opinions - It is good to hear from people with differing points of view.
