We brought a 5X8 cargo trailer down here packed tightly with a dirt bike, book shelves, tables, lamps, books, bedding, knick knacks and more about 3
years ago. I worried for months about what would happen crossing the border. We drove through Tecate at 8 a.m. and the border guys didn't even look
up. We were driving a pickup with a camper, pulling the cargo trailer. Looked just like a couple of folks coming down to camp for awhile, bringing
our toys. Felt silly afterwards about all the worrying I had done. Just our story.

that's the route I'll take, and the boxes are all lable outside with contents....appreciate, as always, everyone's input............Keith

Better check on the translation. Some things require a approved translator for the document. ??

My thoughts exactly but even when one is positive, it's better to have it than wish you had it.....thanks

good luck on the move and don't sweat it ... most of the time we regret our nervousness after the fact - just like Bob and Jane.

My Story
This has been about 5 or 6 years ago, so take it for what it is worth.
We went to the Phoenix Mexican Counsl. and filled out the paperwork and had everything labeled, had all of the S/N's documented.
Before I came down, I was told I had to have an Importer drive my trailer across the border. So I called a company in Calexico and they told me it
would be about 60 dollars. I was good with that.
So the day we are on our way down, I called the importer and told them I would be down at about 2pm. "No Problem"
By the time we get to the warehouse we were notified, that the laws had changed and it was going to cost $700 to transfer our belongings. Well he
obviously didn't know me well. I turned around, told him to flock OFF, and I got in my truck and started toward the border. I called my amigo, from
Mexico, and told him. He said don't worry about it, and to meet him at the border and he would have his cousin let us in.
I get to the border, and for the first time, gave this young guy $25 and he passed us in.
We decided to stop at Costco and get a hot dog. While there, we were sitting next to another couple from LA that were doing the same thing, hauling
down furniture to there house in San Felipe.
I made a comment, "man wasn't that a hastle?" they reply, "No not really, we just drove up, handed the guy at the border our paper work and he passed
us through"
So, bottom line, save your money and then drive it up to the border with your paperwork and go for it. If you get turned away, go to the other
crossing and try it there. If it doesn't work there, go back to the original and chances are someone new will be there by then.
