We buy cervesa at duty free-don't think they can stop you from taking it over the border.

I've crossed into Baja many times. Always heading south to BCS. Always took lots of frozen foods ... ice chests with dry ice, and they are in plain
sight. Usually two big chests. Items include steaks, ribs, chicken, bacon, hamburger, pork chops, etc. all individually wrapped. Once I arrive,
they go straight into a freezer without ever thawing. I've taken in cases of beer too, in plain sight in the back of my pick up. The wine I take in
I put in a compartment, so it isn't visible. Usually three cases or so. And I take in a case of mixed booze also, again, not in plain sight. I also
take in one cooler for refrigerated items like cheese, salami, sour cream, etc. Never got questioned about any of it. The only questions I ever got
was at GN crossing into BCS and they wanted to know if I had fruits or vegetables, which I don't bring. They would casually look into the tops of the
coolers just to make sure I didn't. They are more concerned with collecting the $1 for the under spray of the truck.
I do buy groceries in BCS to supplement my stuff, things like fish, milk, eggs, veggies, fruits, etc., but I like to bring my own frozen meats, beer,
wine and booze and that way I'm pretty set for awhile once I arrive with things I consider tougher to get down in BCS in remote locations. Just
easier for me to fill in the gaps rather than find a place to do complete shopping.
Never been questioned about any of it.
Guess maybe I shouldn't plan for my good luck to always continue?

Look guys, I used to own a liquor store, and I now have a substantial credit from which I can draw. So #1, obviously cost is a factor, as I don't
have to shell out $$$ for alcohol NOB. #2, I don't really care to spend time looking for the micro's SOB that are my personal choice for consumption.
Anyway, the thread is about food and beverages that are or aren't allowed to cross into Baja. I'm still curious about what the rules actually might
be, and offered simply that I've never experienced being inspected for this, nor have I had any goods removed from my truck.

Dennis ... LOL!
Thanks for your "offer"!
I bargained for the "holy grail" on exit, so if I pace myself correctly, and assuming my doctor doesn't interfere, I should have enough to "live
comfortably on" for quite some time.
And the doctor, I don't see him regularly right now. Best to keep him out of the equation for a bit.

Jim/Lisa:
Thanks for posting that info. After looking it over, it seems to apply to someone moving into MX (Lake Chapala Moving?) as opposed to someone
traveling into MX for vacation purposes in their own vehicle. Can you or anyone comment as to this?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
You can go on line and pick any Mexican city or town listed looking for Mexican Goverment Regulations. Just select one I just picked one at random.
Just keep in mind that as of 2010 the Mexican Conso in the United States no longer will help none Mexicans. go to one of there sites ne closest to you
and click on sevices for none Mexicans.
