Solar is the way to go, but remember you are in Baja, if you are not there your solar panels may not be there either.

Well, what that means is that size of your battery bank (in amphours) determines how many amps of current you should have available to charge your battery bank. Lets say you stay small and have just 2 6v golf cart batteries. The Trojan t105 are rated at 225 ah. If you go by Trojans recomendation you should have somewhere between 10 to 13% (23 and 30 amps) available to charge those 2 batteries. Here is the website for that info. http://www.trojanbattery.com/Tech-Support/BatteryMaintenance...
Use the "charger selection" under related links.
A lot of people use way less than those numbers, and it still works, but the less you have available to charge your batteries, the faster they will sulfate and die. The panels necessary to give that much charge and the charge controller to go with them will get pretty expensive. That is why I proposed a generator and a good little charger. I personally prefer solar, but there are other options. Maybe in your case where you will be moving around some the gen option might work better. But maybe not. Your choice entirely.
