Question for the Old Salts and Seal Lovers
We have a huge dead seal on the beach-with what we think is the mate not leaving his side. It appears it was attacked by a shark, or a big arse fish.
How do we go about getting rid of this poor thing? Too high up to be taken out on the tide. Would appreciate your thoughts-quickly!

If you just leave it, the critters(buzzards and others) will consume it pretty quick, in a week it'll be a pile of bones. We've had 2 this yr on the
beach.

Oh man is that thing ever gonna stink ! Quick as you can dig a big arse hole behind it and roll it in and bury it. Best, if it's not too rotten, to
drag it out to sea though.

I have seen some simply cover them in firewood and gasoline and let fire do most of the work...

best to dig a hole right along side it and roll it in....or...put a rope around it, drag it out to sea, weight it, and turn it loose.

The problem with just burying them is unless you get them very deep, dogs will simply dig them right back up. In fact I think they love the
challenge...

Well, if you were back in California, you would just call the county and they would take care of it for free. Just enjoy that fresh Mexican atmosphere
and don't have a heart attack, Billie.

when a dead animal washes up on your beach and stinks up your joint, can't you figure out what to do without asking the internet?

my suggestion to you: go ask your mother!

well my Mom is dead so that's out. It is on the beach which is nowhere near my home, so it does not stink here. Just a question I thought others may
have dealt with here-sorry Goat if this offends

The Seri Indians make pendants with the canine teeth of the lobo california. Neat.
Save the canine teeth.
