Find out from those selling ice cream from carts.

There is NO dry ice in La Paz! Better explain, I have investigated quite extensively over the last ten years and even thought about it for a business, the carts do not use dry ice they are so insulated they hold their product all day.

Interesting. And they have a major university there? How do they carry out organic chemistry reactions that require a dry ice and acetone bath (-78C)? That's a very common reaction condition in O chem. La Paz also has that CIBNOR that is supposedly an official laboratory mandated by the government. Gotta question the "science" going on there if they don't have access to dry ice... wonder what else they don't have access to?

To be honest if its for fish, dry ice is overkill and unnecessary. Just freeze it solid and if you have to freeze some bottled water to put on top of it, add salt to the water so it stays frozen longer and keep the cooler sealed your fish wlll return home just fine, no matter where you are going.

Labs and hospitals probably make their own.

the videos well, a waste of time to watch and some of the others on youtube explaining the home made dry ice making method, % product yield vs the possible risk involved is pretty stupid

maybe import one of these into la paz, but it will be awhile before you see a profit, if ever
