Preach on, Pacifico!

Isn't that the truth! You have to enjoy your life and not let media hype
spoil the fun.

Prepare for "every" eventuality? That's alot of preparation. Make sure you leave some time for fun. Suprises can be good!

never stepped a foot in Mexico and beleive all of the media BS. It's funny to me how these people believe that they are totally safe here in the

anywhere in Mexico. Bad things can happen anywhere.... |
Right on Pacifico!

Thing is, in the states where we live, we know where not to go. In Mexico, Baja, we may not be aware of where we don't belong. We unknowingly raise
the risk factor.

One day a long time ago, when I lived in Memphis, Tenn, I was lost while riding my motorcylce in "the wrong side of town."
I pulled over to ask an older gentleman walking down the sidewalk which way was it to the freeway. But before I could utter a word, the man said to me
"Mister, I don't know where you're going, but you're heading the wrong way." I took that to mean I needed to hang a u-turn as the answer to my unasked
question.

Times are changing
Just got back from going into town (Rosarito) certainly looks a lot different from the previous year. At our favorite taco stand on the North End of
town we counted 6 gringos while we ate.
Traffic was heavy through out town didn't go all the way to the hotel so not sure what activity is going on down there but saw lots of California
plates.
As much as I want the locals to have work I am going to miss the quiet days if this continues.

One time a song time ago when I lived in Memphis Tenn.{ Going to naval Aviation School at Millington} i went as often as possible to Beale Street to
listen to Jerry Lee Lewis singing "there's a Whole lot of Shakin Going On"
I watched as the Buses came in and picked up , mostly Black Folks, to take to the Cotton Fields to Pick Cotton, You were told :"Don;t go into the area
off of Beale Street!! They don;t like "White Folks"!!
It is the same in Tj. Dont' go into the Bad Mexicano Places. Ask if you are not sure!~

Ken, thought your pictures on the posts of you guys four wheeling (where one can see the bull ring in the back ground) showed that there are a lot of
really good people down there in TJ ... who make it every day, and live there and have fun..
Can't remember which of your posts it was or I would put a link to it...
The "event" starts out with very few people playing with the 4 x 4's.. by the end there is a Taco cart, and others selling food and drinking to all
the people that showed up to let everyone see how "their" ride "looked" and how theirs it could make it through the obstacle one had to traverse ...
Thanks it all helps ... and certainly your being with the "people" does nothing but strengthen relations with Mexico ... for all ....
Stay safe and tell your wife to cheer up.... ... you're a very lucky man you both enjoy life very much.. and live it full tilt... good for you...

Cristina has family in Tijuana and we both have a lot of friends there. Tijuana is a big town and like other large cities, you just need to know where
to go and where to avoid. Speaking Spanish fluently is a big help when you get outside the tourist areas.
Never had a single problem in decades of travel and time spent there. Common sense and street smarts goes a long way...

Fear? It's all about dollars and cents. Baja is getting to be a little too
expensive. Food? About what you'd pay north of the border. Rent? Depends upon where? Fuel? Not really a bargain. I'd be afraid of running out of cash.

Tijuana is a fun place - especially if you are in a 4WD club!
