What is the new Toll Booth looking thingy South of Maneadero?
Just back from a quick trip down for the weekend. I looked to see if there was already a thread. What is the deal with the toll Booth going south and
Military check point going north. It is located a mile of two north of La Grulla. There were signs about the Military Checkpoint going north but no
real hints heading south. I failed to take a photo.

Probably a new Military Checkpoint. The new one on Hchy 5 at Hghy 3 looks somewhat like it could be a toll booth.

I was there 1 month ago, thank you. It looked like a Military Checkpoint that
was either not in use, or had just been constructed.

A month ago the temp. military check was south of San Vicente at the Valle de Trinidad road jcn. The new 'thingy' near Uruapan is where they will be
located once the highway widening is completed through there. It is not a toll gate.

You mean when the widening is completed through San Vicente? It's already done from Maneadero to just north of Acambaro/Uruapan and they are doing
the grading now on the next stretch south to Ejido Ajusco, just north of Santo Tomas. It looks like they're going to replace the old blind switchback
curves on the hill above the Santo Tomas winery with a straighter drop into the valley.

Thanks for the photo, Juan del Rio. Now I see what all the excitement is about, that would have caught my attention, too.
