FM3 and Bank Statement

I forgot---something I do more all the time.

When you turn in your bank statements for renewing the FM3, is it OK to black out the account number?

Thanks!

I blacked out all but the last 4 numbers on our statements and the La Paz office didn't have any problems with it.

we use our online statement and it automatically blanks all but the 4 last digits.

Are they still required for renewing FM3? This year, no longer required when renewing FM2.

We will soon find out. Would be nice if they don't, but since there always seems to be different things needed in different immigration offices, we will have them just in case.

I had ours at the ready too. Found out that instead a short letter is required wherein you state that you have sufficient income (sans numbers).

Good Luck!

Financial records are no longer part of the process for the card (no more book).

We turned in/started our FM-3 card renewal on Friday May 27th in CSL. The agent was very professional and very helpful.

Yes, we were required to provided "one copy of the last three months" of a bank account for each person. We blacked out the entire account number with a black sharpie pen and the agent had no problem with us doing this. This is something we have done every year since 2006 with no problem...bank statements are form our US bank.

Last year we were in the first group that received the "FM-cards" and we were told it would take two weeks to get our card. Two weeks later our cards were ready. This year we were told it would be three to four weeks before our cards will be ready...time will tell.

I love it! As usual, lots of consistency.

Bank Statements are no longer required with the new card system, but some offices still want them. So we will take ours ---some with the numbers blacked out and some not so, just in case. And we may not need them at all.

Our current FM3 cards have our photos in color and my sister's FM3 card has her picture in black and white----different immigration offices.

Maybe it will all be very consistent right before they change it all once again.

Thanks

Renewed my FM2 yesterday at the Sta. Rosalia office and they requested them, even asked for the May statement that isn't available yet, but took what I had.

Interesting, I was recently in Ensenada and they told me to bring my bank account information-checking account.
