You are correct about my last trip to Bufeo. There is a nice protected cove for swimming and snorkeling (very shallow). The camping situation did not
look very good (no palapas, bathrooms, showers, etc.) ... but I suspect that you might be able to negotiate some of these services from the guy who
operates the cabins.
BTW: has anyone ever tried to hire a panga out of Bufeo? I want to get out to the islands (San Luis and Pomo?) and bufeo is the closest spot ...
otherwise I will try to get out there from Gonzaga (10 to 15 miles).
I'll be travelling down on June 16th ... if any nomads will be going at that time, please let me know.

Yes, you can rent a panga from Benito. Find him at the ranch house/motel. Our daughter has a place there. Fishing is great for YT, Sierra, Barr and
more between San Luis an Pulmo. Dan

I have been there in late May and in mid-June. In late May the caretaker was still around. Rooms are very basic (I'd rather camp than stay in them
unless the wind is howling) and my guess they would be 250 pesos per night or so.
When I went in mid-June there was no one to be found. No one ... like an abandoned ... so I suspect in mid-June they close up until the temperature
starts to cool.
Yes, there were hot showers.
I'll be there next week and see if I can get some more information.

I have stayed there several times, when Gonzaga was full. Clean Modest rooms --like Baja was in the 70's. They fed us dinner & breakfast--good
basic food. I'd stay there again-- especially if we were just travling thru. My memory was it's a lot cheeper than Alphonsinas. Not as pretty view
