atsc digital tv tuner?

Hello Nomads,

Are there any digital local tv broadcast stations, that I might be able to pick up using one of these atsc digital tv tuners? Or, is everything still analog? I'm a few miles outside of downtown Ensenada. I was thinking about dragging down my tuner and indoor antenna. Pointless?

Wiki says Mexico will not be fully transitioned to digital ATSC signals until 12/31/2015, so I doubt there's much broadcasting going on in Ensenada.

But you might get signals from San Diego in El Sauzal.

Thanks, I guess it's worth a shot! I'll report back on what I get. :)

I get HD quality Mexican TV here in San Diego without the boxes(newer TVs have it built in)....I use it to watch the pay-per-view fights that are normally found on HBO, watch them on canal azteca that same night...Its a pretty good signal, cuts out sometimes but I get to watch boxing...after 9PM but still, its free. You should be able to get the same signal in Ensenada.I believe there is 38 digital channels currently available.
