Fundamentally correct. Actually, from what I last heard, it was Alaska's subsidiary Horizon that wa making the trip using regional jets.

Despite the Loretanos griping, the demand to Loreto has been stagnant in recent times.

Just maybe the Villas Group project South of town at Ensenada Blanca will create more competition for seats and more service.

No griping here. We love Alaska/Horizon and are damn glad they fly to Loreto. :dudette:

Horizon Bombardier Q-400's now proudly display the Eskimo on their tail, just like their Alaska Air big brothers.

I just hope the Eskimo keeps serving Loreto!

Just curious, what time do the flights arrive and depart Loreto? Back in the early '90's when I flew in, the main gripe was the flights in arrived late evening, the flights out departed early morning, on a 3 nite package you really only got two days in town.

QX Flight 2601 now leaves Los Angeles at 10:10 am (that's this month) and arrives in Loreto at 1:30 pm.

QX Flight 2602 departs Loreto at 2:15 pm, arriving at Los Angeles at 3:45 pm.

Works for me! In my experience, the scheduled times are merely a suggestion, and usually run 45 minutes to an hour late. :tumble:

I fly to Loreto at least 3 or 4 times a year from LAX.

Other than the price, I have had no problems with Alaska or their "sister" company. Almost always on time and usually early.

Nice thing about the smaller planes is they fly lower and you get a great view of Baja on the way down. Bad thing is they are much slower.

IIRC, in winter departure time from LAX is 11.00 (or 11.10?) LAX time.
