Birds or bats flying o'er head last night.
At 11:15pm a flock of what sounded like thousands of something flew closely over the house. I heard it coming, then it was rushing over like a long
squeaky train. Must've gone on for a good 20 or 30 seconds. Long enough for me to wonder what it was, wonder why it had not yet ended, extricate my
legs from under sack-o-cement-dog, fumble for my glasses and get to the screen door to hear the stragglers squeak by. The noise they made was a gull
like high pitched krrrrrrrrrrr then a quick cricket like ee-ee.
We put up a bat house just last week. If they were bats, we will need a LOT more.
Do large flocks of birds fly low to the ground at night?

Rod Serling is no longer with us. You're gonna have to do this on your own.

Bats don't make much audible noise and don't usually fly in a straight line, unless they are vampire bats.
Probably some shore bird species getting the flock out of there?

Birds, like dogs...
...can tell when 'The Big One' is coming!
Stock up on food and water - that big shaker is right around the corner!
On a more serious note, there have been a multitude of 3.0+ quakes in Northern Baja and California in general...As the earth in this area heats up
during the summer months, I think we're due for a large quake in this area that could affect us all!
Keep safe out there...
According to my clock...anytime is \'BAJA TIME\' & as Jimmy Buffett says,
\"It doesn\'t use numbers or moving hands It always just says now...\"

Nearing sunset this evening we were floating in the water and nature rang a silent bird bell because suddenly an enormous gaggle of low flying birds
skimmed past us flying from inside the bay and headed towards the outer mesas. I mean, a lot of birds. Pelicans, gulls, and lots and lots of
terns. Squeak-eek, Squeak-eek...
Why the sudden urge for all of them to take off had me wondering. Tide wasn't coming up so they hadn't lost their beach? They weren't following any
pangas going out that late?
The Terns (Royals mostly) took the opportunity to dive bomb the many little fishes jumping around me. Squeak-eek. Before catching up with the rest of
the group. Squeak-eek.
If you hear the noise again tonight, check for sardinas in your yard in the morning. Maybe it's Terns returning from... Squeak-eek... Happy hour.
