I haven't dealt with them recently but, in the past, I have found the migracion in Guerrero Negro to be quite helpful and accommodating. Up until the
last couple of years it was possible to have them stamp your entry and exits on a fm or issue an fmt, but they seem to have different rules now.

Drove north through GN this past Saturday, they were there but just waived us through.

Picked up our FM3s there on Monday and Magdelena said she was surprised when she heard that anyone thought that office had closed. Oh, she also said
that they really do not know how the new law will be implemented.
The new boss there is really very accommodating. She had forgotten to initial John's card and she was not there. They called her at home and she
came over within 20 minutes---just long enough for us to walk the dogs.
Also, we did not have a CURP before and somehow, they managed to acquire them for us---the numbers are on the cards and they gave us the papers and
told us it was very important and not to lose them.

Geez. No rhyme nor reason. We have NEVER been asked to show papers at this station, in virtually decades. North or South. And yet, I've been told by
several folks we encountered along the way about fines they had to pay.
As was mentioned several times before, ALL travelers should obtain their FMM at the border and pay for it then, as well.

went thru this am, asked for our fmt. after trying to find hers in her bag it was decided she lost her fmt. they gave her one after we went to the
banamex to pay. BUT she got fined 1,200 pesos for having 5 apples in her basket :-(

I hope you are kidding ART! 
The INM people don't enforce the ag stuff... the ag people next door do... You were extorted... sad sad... You guys are so nice, don't let government
crooks rob you.. or at least without putting up a fight!

The Ag people are right there with the immigration people and as long as they paid at the bank, they were not ripped off. If paid at the bank, it is
legitimate---if not, that is different and he was not specific.
Glad your wife got her tourist visa since it had been announced that she was in Baja illegally without a tourist visa.

It may NOT be illegal to be in Baja Norte for up to 72 hours without a tourist card... The southern limit of the border zone has been in question for
years and since the checkpoint at Maneadero was moved to near Guerrero Negro some 20 years ago, even the state officials of Baja California claim the
entire state (Norte) is in the 'border zone'. We have asked to see federal 'text' on this, until then it is safer to just go with Maneadero (as it was
the last location of the border zone in print).

The operation is kinda erratic. The south bound 10 peso spray seems pretty steady but the northbound visa check is on again-off again. Several times
we've gone through and if they were on a break or just having a good time they waved us through.
