propane in mulege
Does the mulege Pemex station on hwy 1 carry propane? (Not the bottles but the ability to fill a motorhome tank.) If not, where is the nearest place
from Santispac to fill a motorhome propane tank. Thanks Ron

Not really sure but I would guess Gaspassa either north of Santa Rosalia or southern end of Loreto

Thanks. I have 3/8's of a tank which will be plenty until we get to Mulege. Doesn't take much to cook and run the refrigerator and certainly don't
need the furnace!!! Ron

Amigo, please let us know how you fared setting up in Mulege this summer. A couple of my favorite things are eating and drinking at the local
establishments!! I'm not sure if Scotty's El Candil is open but check it out. The Water Store and Saul's Market. Geez, I'm starting to sound like
Pompano! I try to visit Mulege and Los Barriles area a few times a year.
Kinda hard to drag myself off of our southern beaches, tho. Enjoy your summer. Tio

Thanks Tio. In our past trips to Mulege and south we just had the motorhome without a tow car so missed many of the small fun restaurants etc. This is
a permanent relocation for us so we will have a car etc. We're going to spend a few days on the Pacific side before arriving in Mulege. After we're
settled in would love to buy you a beer or two....

You now have the most current information regarding where to buy propane in Mulege: The water depot under the bridge just set that up a few months
ago.

Toneart- we're looking forward to seeing your place. Looking at 3 in Mulege and 2 on Playa Burro. We'll be at Posada Don Diegos for a couple of days
and Campo Sirena for a couple more before landing at Santispac. The wife of 43 years is leaning toward a palapa but might change her mind when she
realizes the disadvantages of living off the grid. Hope you're feeling well. Ron

choice no push from me

Update. I visited the propane place this afternoon. Unfortunately the propane place can't fill motorhomes. It can fill the bottles etc but not the
permanent RV propane tanks.

I have seen a propane truck come down onto the beach at Santispac while camping there in March. I believe it was going to Ana's. I don't know if the
truck can fill up the motor home tank or not. Maybe check with Ana's and see what the schedule is.

Call Gaspasa: 152-0132. Better yet, call the driver directly:155-9557. His name is Raphael. 
If they can't do it, then you will have to go to their depot, part way up the mountain past Santa Rosalia.

Heading toward the plaza (westbound) on the most southerly street you will encounter a yellow cafe COMIDA ECONOMICA on your left side. They have a
daily COMIDA CORRIDA for 50 pesos that is authentic Mexican food. It just beats the pants off of those gringolandia plates served by tourist
restaurants that are slopping with melted cheeses. Yuck!
