Bancomer ATM Machines in English
We need a little help with the Spanish that is on the Bancomer ATM machines. Frankly we don't read enough Spanish to know what buttons to push yet.
Just wanting to pull cash once and awhile.
Any help would be appreciated.

I use a Bancomer ATM a lot and I thought they offered both English and Spanish....one right under the other.

boy, that's a hard one - perhaps get someone who speaks both to go with you to the ATM and copy down the translation of what appears ??? that way
you'll be set ....

I asked at the bank if I could take a picture of the screen and that got a resounding NO ... Not a good idea he said!!

I agree take someone with you to go through the transaction. I use Bancomer frequently and there is an English option as I have used it.. Look
carefully and you will find it...

Not sure about which banks and where, but from my experience more ATMs offer both Spanish and English than do not. It is somewhat surprising to me
that in a city such as La Paz, that has a large number of foreigners both as residents and tourists, they would not be using machines that offered
translation.
That said, it seems to me that if you are just trying to obtain cash, you probably only need to deal with three entries. Don't know how difficult that
would be.

Like I mentioned above, it's on the screen right below the Spanish selections. It's not an option.....you get it whether you want it or not.

Thanks for the advice so far ... He didn't give me a reason ... think he was afraid I would get in trouble with the security cameras on the machines.

Like yeah. They'd have your picture, and it would look to them like you were planning to "game" the machine. Lotsa stories about external card readers
being used to rip folks off.
So. My question to you is, why can't you ask this very same person at the bank to help you write a little cheat sheet? As I mentioned, it's not going
to more than three or so entries.

Actually you have to make five selections:
1. CASH WITHDRAWAL
2.FROM CHECKING OR SAVINGS
3. AMOUNT
4. DO YOU ACCEPT THE FEE OF XXXXXX PESOS
5. DO YOU WANT TO DONATE TO SOMETHINGOROTHER
I think that's it.

#5 Really? I never seen or not noticed that. Again..I read nothing else that English. Once you get the order like DENNIS has done...it's easy to do.

Bring along a spanish-english dictionary. How hard can it be? You'll learn something useful at the same time.

It's on all of them here. I don't remember what the cause is, but I'm not about to make a donation for anything to, or through a bank.

Assuming you get this far, when you get to the page that offers you the amount to withdraw, don't forget it's in pesos. (The first time I did it I
ended up with 200 pesos, and a $5.00US atm fee from my bank.) There will be an option to enter another amount, select that then enter the amount you
really want. I think the max is 6000 pesos.

We only see that at the HSBC ATM's here in San Quintin - not at Bancomer (yet).

You're bad. Three or so, and you are off to the races!
Remember that I was not the person that drowned your cat!

Bottom line for me is that if someone is actually living in La Paz, this thread should not even exist. Period.
