Ohhhh yeah....I forgot about those two. Up to 7.

And don't forget the instruction that doesn't often appear in the menu but you may hear it: "levante las manos."

Oooooh....that's at those ten star restaurants you guys hang out in.

Did you ever get in an ATM line when young [and not so young] kids are using it like a video game?

Once, a short time back, I was waiting to get into the locked ATM room at a bank. What I was waiting for were these two young girls to finish their business and finally they opened the door and asked me if the card they were trying to use was made for an ATM.
I looked at the card and the name on it was James Smith....something like that. I had the card in my hand so I sailed it into the parking lot and the two girls chased after it while I locked myself in the room to make a transaction.

I guess they forgot their PIN number.

our Bancomer in Vizcaino, the first screen says checking your card....then has the "do you want to donate" second...after entering the NIP or PIN #, then it asks if you are good with the service charge for the transaction, then it asks what you want to do...etc etc...and it asks if you want a printed receipt, then the last one is if you want to do another transaction...so there are alot of steps all right....and the Banamex machines want you to take your card out right away before doing anything...this has tripped people up too.

Had some friends with us on a trip to Cabo last fall, who had never been to Mexico.

The woman has been a long time customer of Chase in the States. Basically, all the Chase ATMs have you swipe your card and then remove.

Our friend found herself at a Banamex ATM near downtown Cabo to get cash for dinner. Next day, she reported to us that she had lost her card.

Long story short, those ATMs that hold your card for the duration of the transaction, are also programmed to "swallow" the card, if it is not removed within a few seconds after the transaction is completed.

I took our friend to the bank the next day, and sure enough, they had her card.
